And it begins...

Wow, have I had a life changing year! I've traveled parts of Europe, I got engaged, I moved from Sydney to New York City with my fiance, I changed careers, I got married and went on honeymoon!

In Sydney, I was working as a Social Worker for a Youth Homeless program. I really enjoyed it however, it was extremely challenging and I never felt that I was truly passionate in my job. I watched my partner love every second he spent working on his technology start-up and wondered what I was missing out on.

I have always had a huge love for flowers which lead me to complete a weeks work experience at a local florist in Wahroonga, Sydney during school. For my 26th Birthday, I was given an 8 session Floral Art evening course at City East Community College, Sydney. It was an introductory course into Floristry where I was taught how to create a different floral arrangement technique each week. Not only did this course feel like a therapeutic break from my daily job but it felt so natural to be creating beautiful floral arrangements. I was given a great deal of praise from my teacher. Throughout this course I dreamed that I would one day be a florist however, I didn't think it would come true so soon.

In  2014, My partner and I packed up our life and moved to New York! I needed a job and fast! Friends always said to me "how cool would it be if you got a job in floristry, that's so you!". Within a very short time, I became employed in a beautiful florist called Adore Floral in Noho. I very quickly realised this was my true passion. I loved to learn about how to care for, process and arrange beautiful flowers. I love going to work everyday and I enjoy being taught and challenged to improve my technique and knowledge.

I feel very content in knowing that this is the beginning of a fun, passionate and creative new career.
